At Geekine we're joining the trend of Barbie-mania to bring you a A brief list of the most iconic games in this popular franchise. Many of us who grew up between the late 90s and early 2000s remember the Flash games on the Barbie.com website.
Several of them are simple in gameplay, but full of nostalgic childhood memories. Although they are full of stereotypically feminine themes, And while some are quite simple in their objectives, back then they were the best possible entertainment if you had internet access. Check out this list to see if they bring back any memories, or if you're interested in delving into the magical world of Barbie.
Next, We will mention some of the most memorable games that we were fortunate enough to experience.. Because the website is no longer available, it's difficult to create an exact timeline or list absolutely all the games that were available.
It's worth mentioning that over the years, new games were added and removed from the site, so it's not easy to keep track of all the titles that existed on the platform. Furthermore, not all of them were exclusively Barbie-themed; there were some linked to Polly Pocket, MyScene, and other toys with a feminine theme available online. With all this in mind, here are some of the most memorable games from Barbie.com:
Flower Song Fun, by Barbie Fairytopia
He game It consisted of clicking some singing little flowers cared for by flower fairies that appear in the movie Barbie Faerytopia. Each flower had a distinct sound or melody that we could mix to make our own song.

Some other games that unfolded upon entering the magical garden section of Barbie Fairytopia were: Moonlight Wishes Game, Earn Sparkle Points, Make a Magical World!, Mermaid Games!, and Fairyoke Wings.
Make Happy Family Memories
In this game The main character is Midge, a forgotten friend of Barbie's, who marries Alan and together they have a son.. The game is a family photo album in which, as we delve deeper, we're looking at memories and discovering this tender story.
When you click on the walls of the room, you can decorate the house and enhance these family memories. Once the decorating is finished, you have the option to name Alan and Midge's new baby.
We can add our birthdate and mother's name if we want to see ourselves reflected in the story. By entering a username, we can play a short video that tells this story like a family film, with our name on it.
Pet Dance!
This It's a very simple game, But it's likely that several will remember him fondly. It consists of creating your own video of your Barbie pet dancing. In this game, we are given three pet options: a lilac unicorn, a Golden Retriever puppy, and a Poodle.
Once you've chosen your animal, you can select the background design and finally the music. Once everything is ready, a video is shown based on your selection, with somewhat rudimentary animations, but fascinating if you were a 6-year-old girl with limited internet access.

Let's Baby-sit Baby Krissy
Possibly, even if you didn't play it, Do you remember that enormous baby face on the cover? game selection. He gameplay It involves babysitting a friend's baby. At first, we're in the baby's room surrounded by her toys.. We are asked to interact, so by clicking and dragging toys, we move on to the next stage. The second scenario is bathing the baby, followed by the beach, the park, and various other activities. Upon completing all the levels, we receive an official nanny certificate for completing the day.

Zoom and Groom
One of my favorites when I was 8 years old was This game of grooming and dressing up your pet. At the start of the game, we are given the option to choose between a puppy, a mare, or a kitten. Once we have selected our pet, we can click to bathe it, groom it, perfume it, and apply makeup in any order we like. Then we are given various options for clothing, accessories, and other items to decorate it as we wish.
Once finished, we have the option to print our creation or start over. Personally, my favorite was Barbie's blonde mare because she had a foal that you could also decorate.
Barbie in the great Scooby Doo search
A crossover in honor of the Barbie inspired by Daphne from Scooby Doo. In which we must complete sentences by finding letters, that is, clues, in the rooms of a haunted mansion.

Fashion Fever Styled by Me
A Barbie classic dress-up game, Of which there are millions, this one was unique in that you could play it both in the games section of the website and by going to Barbie's closet, where it automatically appeared as part of her home's interactions. Other memorable dress-up games include: Styled by Me, Cali Girl: Beach Blast, Barbie: Hot Looks, Barbie's Closet, Barbie: Princess Dress-Up, Plastic Girl Dress-Up, Erika Dress-Up, Odette Dress-Up, and others.
Storybook Adventures
When you went to the Barbie palace section, they would unfold several minigames from Storybook Adventures These games involved clicking on elements on the screen to hear audio clips of movie characters and learn a bit about their stories. They included games from every movie released up to that point, such as Barbie, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, The Island Princess, The Princess and the Pauper, and more. At the end of each game, you could download a printable puzzle with the movie synopsis and advertisements for related dolls.

Shoe Hunt
This game was one of my favorites. It's a kind of memory game where you have to find pairs of shoes in Barbie's messy room. To do this, you must interact with the furniture and objects by clicking on them. It has three difficulty levels, and it's quite satisfying to see all the pairs neatly arranged in the closet once you complete a level.

Superstar Makeovers
A makeup game similar to dress-up games, You are presented with a limited range of colors and options with which to apply Barbie's makeup.. I remember as a child I loved finding strange combinations and laughing at my little mischief. Among other makeup sets, I should mention Barbie Makeover Studio and Princess Make-up.

Barbie Fashionistas: Photo Shoot
In this game You must set up a scene for a photo shoot with a Barbie Fashionista of your choice and in her own style. I remember one Christmas I received as a gift the Barbie Fashionista who in the game represented the “Artsy” style”.
These dolls were characterized by being highly articulated, and in the game, once the photography set was designed, you had to arrange the doll's limbs according to the game's instructions, recreating the possibilities of Barbies with joints.

To conclude this nostalgic journey, I leave you with this video of what the Barbie website looked like in 2008.. Here we can appreciate what the interface and access to games was like at that time, being a fairly interactive and thematic experience.
Other honorable mentions of games I remember playing are: Limo Jam, My Scene: Shopping spree, Make a Mag, Fashion Tailor, Snip'n Style Salon, Barbie Sparkle Chain, Create'n Skate, Pop Star Pop-Ups and Fairy Race.
If this little trip down memory lane has made you want to visit the Barbie website, I have bad news. These games are no longer available on their original platform and aren't so easy to find. However, there are websites where these Flash games are still available. The most comprehensive online library I could find was Numiki's.. If you'd like to experiment on your own, these games are a good place to find them, although not all of them are included. Let us know if you were familiar with the games I mentioned in this list, which ones were your favorites, and which ones you think I should mention next time.
