Do you know how many universes Doctor Strange and America Chavez traveled through in the Multiverse of Madness?

If you haven't seen it yet Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of MadnessPlease do not continue reading because you will find spoilers for the film. It should be noted that these are comments on the best scene in the film.

The special effects supervisor from the movie, Alexis Wajsbrot, in a interview, he briefly explained what each universe meant. As you'll surely remember, it's a very quick scene that barely lasts a few seconds.

The different universes in the Multiverse of Madness

The Living Tribunal Statue World It's the first one to appear. This world of the Living Tribunal has existed in Marvel comics for quite some time.

Onslaught Canyon World It's the second world, and with it they wanted to pay tribute to James Franco's film 127 Hours. They considered changing it because it also resembled the shots of the Grand Canyon in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The journey continued with in the Honeycomb World, which is a world with a large number of beehives. To give it a more realistic touch, they added giant bees and a bit of water to create a transition to the next underwater universe.

The Mirror World Initially, it was going to be a world of machines. But they realized it was easier to make it out of glass.

The fifth universe is the Cube World, in which Doctor Strange's face is fragmented into small cubes. They made several versions of this. There's one with small cubes in which Doctor Strange is cut, but they thought it was too gory and decided to remove it.

The next universe was quite striking. It is Paint WorldYou can see everything painted in a large simulation for the characters and backgrounds. Supervisor Alexis Wajsbrot commented that it was one of the most fun to recreate.

The universe continued Comic Book World, very similar or rather very influenced by comics. Although some believe it was a reference to the series What if…?, but Alexis denied that idea.

Later, the universe appeared Post-Apocalyptic World showing what would have happened to New York City if the Avengers had lost the battle.

Then, in the ninth universe, it is observed Underwater World. This was very challenging, according to the special effects supervisor. They filmed it in slow motion and underwater. 

Then, it continued Alt New York, is the one where fish fall on top of the cars and the road that came from Underwater World.

For eleventh place we have the universe Pipe World with references to the film Spider-Man: Far From Home and the drones that appear.

Then, they arrived at the Savage Land, a jungle world with even a dinosaur fight. Referring to Savage World, from the comics, which first appeared in The Land Where Time Stops comic in Marvel Mystery Comics # 22 in August 1941. 

Hydra World It's a 1930s-style world resembling an old-fashioned New York. If you watch the film in IMAX, you'll see the Hydra reference on a giant poster. So it seems this organization has taken control of this world.

Finally, we have the universe James Turrell World. Based on the artist's work, paying tribute to his simple pieces made with light.

That's quite a few universes for this Multiverse in such a short time, but it's worth enjoying them again and again. Did you count them?
