Here at Geekine we love anime. It's, in fact, one of our most public hobbies. This is not the first time we have used this space to recommend this type of series.
This wonderful example of the narrative capabilities of Japanese animation is of enormous quality. However, its popularity has not reached the level of other series such as Death Note or Evangelion. We are referring to Kino No Tabi.
Kino No Tabi is, initially, a light novel series written by Keiichi Sigsawa. These were animated in 2003 and a few times after that. But today we're talking specifically about the original series.

What is Kino No Tabi about?
The anime's title can be translated as "Kino's Travels." And the plot couldn't be simpler. Kino is a girl who travels the world driving her talking motorcycle, Hermes (a character who healthily reminds us of Alphonse from Full Metal Alchemist).
The world Kino travels through is extremely surreal. In it, madness, brutality, loneliness, technology, and tragedy coexist with innocence, fable-like teachings, and a fairy tale aesthetic.
Kino's philosophy is to spend three days and two nights maximum in one place. For her, that's just the right amount of time to get to know the most important things about a location before setting off on her next adventure.

Why watch it?
It's very difficult to explore all the good reasons we might want to give this series a chance without spoiling the experience with spoilers. Suffice it to say, for now, that Each episode is a small story and a micro-universe that can stand on its own.
And just as each episode can be enjoyed in isolation, watching the series as a whole has its own charm. Seeing the world through Kino's eyes, which combine experience with a certain nostalgia for a past we don't really know yet, is something truly interesting.
However, as much as we at Geekine intend to recommend things, it is always you, dear readers, who have the final say. Will you watch this series? Have you seen it yet? What did you think?
