Yōjo Senki, Season 2: A Possibility of 2023

On June 21, 2021, it was officially announced that there would be a second season. of this impressive series.

However, Here we are, in 2023, and we still haven't seen a single episode of the long-awaited sequel. What's going on? Why are we waiting so long?

Origin and plot of Yōjo Senki

For those unfamiliar, Yōjo Senki is a fantasy anime military based on a series of light novels written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki.

The plot follows Tanya Degurechaff, a girl who is a military officer and has a calculating way of thinking., as well as an insatiable thirst for power.

In the world of this story, magic is real and coexists with the retro-futuristic technology of an alternate history of the First and Second World Wars.

First season

The first season of the series premiered in 2017., and begins with a successful atheist executive at a modern company who, facing imminent death, defies God, denying his existence once again (or a being known as “Being X”).

In response to this affront, the deity sends him to be reincarnated in the body of a girl in an alternate world where a war is in full swing.

With his intelligence and leadership skills, Tanya quickly becomes an elite officer in the Imperial Army and begins to climb the ranks of military command..

The series is known for its fast pace and focus on military strategy.The protagonist faces a multitude of challenges, both on the battlefield and in the politics of military command, and her character develops in fascinating ways as she fights for survival and advancement within the armed forces.

The anime also deals with important themes, such as morality, humanity in a war, and how Tanya's decisions affect her life and those around her.

The film “Yōjo Senki: The Movie”

Then, in 2017, a film based on the series was released, titled “Yōjo Senki: The Movie”. This continues the events after the series, with Tanya fighting a new threat plaguing her country's interests while confronting her own humanity and morality.

The film was very well received by fans of the series and provided a worthy continuation of a story that, based on previous material, still has much to offer.

Current events

Today, however, the outlook is bleak. Despite the announcement of the second season in June 2021, an official premiere date has not yet been given.Rumors and speculation have been circulating on social media, but nothing has been confirmed.

Fans of the series are eager to see how Tanya's story continues and how the new conflicts she will face develop.

Voice acting

The protagonist is played by voice actress Saori Hayami, who has worked on a wide variety of anime series and has been praised for her ability to capture character complexity.

Other relevant characters are also played by important voice actors, such as Saori Hayami, who plays Tanya's superior officer, Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov, and Shinichiro Miki, who plays the senior Imperial Army officer, Erich von Rerugen.
