Now, many people are familiar with it, while others aren't. Some instructions and functions contain words, others symbols, and many of them are used by professionals working in the web world. For this reason, in the following lines, you'll read some of the most popular ones.
How to Include or Exclude Words in Google
When you search the web, you often do so in a non-specific or very general way. But with a simple trick, we can ask Google to discard results that contain the following keywords: words to exclude through a script.
For example, DC superheroes - SupermanThis way, we'd get information related to the DC Comics paladins, eliminating the Man of Steel's appearance. If you want to add another one, you can do so as follows. superheroes of -superman-batman, in this case there would be two excluded.
Now, if we want to include more options in the results, we just need to add the addition symbol (+). So the search would be DC Superheroes + Doom Patrol. With it, we would get information about the DC Comics paladins and also the characters from the Doom Patrol series.
Exact matches
This is an easier option to implement; all you have to do is enclose the words you want to search for in quotation marks. An example of this would be “dc comics superheroes”. This way, the results offered by the search engine should be those of that publisher, not Marvel.
Google helps you if you are missing a word
With this option, all you have to do is add an asterisk (*) in place of the word you forgot. This helps a lot in a sentence or a proverb; this way, Google will try to complete the sentence.
Specific locations
If you arrive in a city and are looking for a business, museum, or specific location, you can use the location command to get precise information. For exampleYou're looking for a hardware store in Bogotá. What you should do is write hardware store located in Bogotá.
Searches by range of numbers
For this type of research, you need to define the range you want to know. This is very useful when searching for price ranges. Therefore, you just need to add two points in a row (..) between the two values. Here is an example, vehicles $4000..$8000.
Increase results
It may be that in a web search, you need the results to be between two options. In other words, you need information on two similar topics, then you just need to add the symbol | or also the word OR. For example, Android programming | iOS programming, the other option would be Android programming OR iOS programming.
With similar themes
On the other hand, we have a super useful instruction, known as AROUND(X), with it you can get two pages with similar topics. In this case, the X represents the maximum number of words that can be separated from each other. An example android AROUND(45)programming, with you will get results where android and programming have a separation of 45 words.
Synonyms directly on Google
If you don't want to go to a website to search for a synonym, you can do so with a simple instruction. You just need to include the symbol prime, the one with the consonant ñ, before the word. Thus, it would be ~programming.
All the words in a text
This is similar to exact matches, on web pages, but with a function. With allintext followed by the words, Google will bring us only the results that include the expression added to the search. Thus, we would have allintext: android programmers.
All words in the content
Another function is intext, which allows you to get all the results and can also appear in the title or in the URL. In this way, the expression would be intext: android programmers.
Expression in the title and in the URL
With these functions you can perform certain searches, in the case of intitle, allows us to find different words in the title of web pages. For example, intitle:xbox video games.
