It's official! Avengers Endgame has become the highest-grossing film in history. And with that the cycle closes. 10 years of Avatar's reign by James Cameron since January 2010.
On June 28th, Avengers: Endgame was re-released in theaters around the world. This time Marvel gave fans extra scenes, its classic post-credits and even a tribute to Stan Lee. And this weekend they have managed to become the highest-grossing film in history, collecting 2,790,275,676 $ for July 22, 2019.
A nod at Comic-Con 2019
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, gave us a wink last Saturday during his impressive panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, where they made known Phase 4 of the MCU. Feige expressed his gratitude to the fans: “Thanks to all of you, 'Avengers: Endgame' is the greatest movie of all time.”
James Cameron didn't miss the opportunity and, in true Pandora style, sent his congratulations via social media with an image merging both worlds along with the following message: Oel Ngati Kamele, I see you, Marvel. Avengers: Endgame records as the highest-grossing film in history


Avengers: Endgame not only earned the title of highest-grossing film in history, but also broke records such as the one with the biggest global opening of all time, with $1.22 billion. This includes an all-time high of $357.1 million in the United States and $866.5 million in the rest of the world.
On the other hand, it also became the fastest film to reach $1 billion in worldwide revenue, and surpassed 'Titanic' for second place all time in just its second week of release.
