In the year 1986 the animated film Super Mario Brothers: Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach in Japanese theaters and was later ported to VHS format. Now YouTube user Carnivol decided to remaster it and present it in 4K. so that all fans can see it again in this impressive format.
The original film has a running time of 62 minutes including credits. A relatively short film with a simple plot. The same as the video game, where Mario and Luigi rescue the Princess Peach.
It should be noted that the animation is very good for the time. In addition, the music and many of the sounds are taken from video games.
Carnivol began the remastering project in the early 2000s.. After several years he managed to finish the work with the help of FemboyFilms. For this he had to acquire several files and software licenses spending about 20,000 dollars. But to the delight of fans it can be seen for free on his YouTube channel.

On the other hand, Illumination and Nintendo have been working on a new plumber film and expect to release it in 2022. This new CGI film has not been affected by the pandemic because much of the work has been done remotely.
