On August 31, 1939, The world and the comic book industry would witness the beginning of what we know today as the oruniverse Marvel. That date was the launch of the comic Marvel Comic #1.
It contains five stories about the characters The Human Torch, The Angel, Submariner, Masked Raider and Ka-Zar The Great and it was released by the publisher Timely. In this way, comic book fans could enjoy stories of action, a touch of mystery, and adventure. It was the beginning of an era in which superheroes would attract a legion of fans.
The stories of comic #1


The Human Torch
In the story of the Human Torch, he Professor Horton He holds a conference to showcase his first android, which is housed in a sealed chamber. By mistake, air enters the chamber, and the android bursts into flames. Because of this, the scientists recommend destroying it due to the danger it poses. Later, the Human Torch manages to escape and is pursued, accidentally gaining control of his flames. In the end, he is able to escape for good, having realized the professor's intentions.
The Angel
Then, in the story of The Angel, He faces six major criminals: Dutch Hansen, Trigger Bolo, Mike Malone, Gus Ronson, John Dillon, and Steve Enkel, all leaders in shady dealings. The Angel is summoned by the city's mayor and Dr. Lang. Once defeated, the hero realizes that Dr. Lang is the leader of the criminals.
Submariner
Another story is that of the Sub-Mariner, better known as Namor. It all begins when two divers investigate the wreckage of a shipwreck. They encounter Namor, who kills them. He then goes to the ship the divers came from and damages its propeller. Afterward, his mother congratulates him on beginning his kind's revenge and tells him about the events that occurred 20 years earlier between humans and them.
The Masked Assailant
The next comic is the one about the Masked Robber. The story revolves around the conflict between Cal Brunder and Jim Gardley. Brunder becomes a menace to Cactusville, as he and his henchmen try to force the other ranchers to sell him their land. But when Jim's turn comes, he decides he won't tolerate Brunder's pressure and bravado. So, he dons a mask, finds a white horse, and practices his shooting skills. Who does he look like? The Lone Ranger? Yes, perhaps it's inspired by him. The one who shouted. “Hi-yo, Silver, away!” It was created in 1933.
Ka-Zar, the Great
Finally, there is the story of Ka-Zar, the Great. It all begins when John, Constance Rand and their three-year-old son, David. They were flying from Johannesburg to Cairo when their plane crashed in the jungles of the Belgian Congo. Everyone survived, although Constance died of tropical fever. They decided to return to civilization, but a storm changed their minds. They then decided to stay and live in the jungle. On one occasion, David saves the life of the lion Zar. Later on, they come across Paul De Craft, who shoots John. David is saved thanks to Zar's appearance. Then, the feline decides to accept the young man into his lair and becomes known as Ka-Zar, Zar's brother. Does he look familiar to you too? He looks like Tarzan., The difference is that it's with a feline. It's worth noting that Jungle Man was created in 1912.
The stories were created by Tohm Dixon, Bill Everett, Carl Burgos, Al Anders, Ray Gill, Ben Thompson and Paul Gustavson. They could never have imagined how far their projects would go.
