The animated series He-Man returns, but this time on Netflix.

In recent years, we have been able to enjoy several animated classics that have risen from the ashes like the Phoenix. In some cases, this sequel or re-edition has been better than the originals, in others not so much. Now, it's time for He-Man and Master of the Universe on Netflix with the well known director Kevin Smith.

Thus began a series that started in the 1980s, specifically in 1981, with action figures about 14 centimeters tall, designed by Roger Sweet and released by Mattel. These figures also came with mini-comics that brought the MOTU universe to life, as it was also known. He-Man and Master of the Universe.

Later, in 1983, they aired a two-season series with a total of 130 episodes. These He-Man animated series were so successful that they remained active until the early 1990s. Meanwhile, the comic books are currently being released, although throughout their history they have been published by several different publishers, such as... Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and DC.

It should be noted that, like any successful franchise, it has a movie, where Dolph Lundgren I take the starring role of He-Man. Then, some time later, the animated series, action figures, and comics were all relaunched. This all happened at the beginning of the new millennium.

Will He-Man be a remake?

The past On August 18th at Power Con, we learned that Kevin Smith, will be the producer of Master of the Universe: Revelation. He indicated that the animation will be in the Japanese style; in other words, we will see it like anime.

The task will be in the hands of Powerhouse Animation, under the supervision of Mattel TV and Netflix.  He emphasized that it will be based on certain stories that were left incomplete in the original version.

In turn, he will not be alone; he will be accompanied by other writers. Diya Mishra (Magic: The Gathering), Tim Sheridan (Reign of Superman), Marc Bernardin (Alphas) and Eric Carrasco (Supergirl).

He also added that They will tell an epic story, where perhaps we could see a final battle between He-Man and his ruthless enemy Skeletor. On the other hand, They gave no clues as to its release date, So they leave us with a good question mark. And the wait begins.
